Preventative Dentistry in Canary Wharf.

Many patients choose to only attend the dentist when they have pain or develop problems. However this can often lead to preventable problems progressing beyond the point of help. Many dental problems can progress silently with little to no symptoms particularly gum disease but can cause widespread destruction of the tissues supporting your teeth  including the destruction of bone. May patients suffer unaware from gum disease but only attend when they experience loose teeth at which point teeth often have to be extracted as nothing else can be done. This can lead to escalating cost and huge expense to fix problems which were entirely preventable. Attending for regular check ups will allow your dentist to spot issues early and deal with them before they become a major problem saving you money and considerable stress.

What happens during a dental check up?

At SDA, dental check examinations are done in a very relaxed atmosphere. During your dental check up, your dentist will examine your teeth, carry out a mouth cancer check, examine your gums and may take x-rays as many dental problems cannot be detected with the naked eye. If the dentist spots any problems, they will discuss them thoroughly with you. They will also present treatment options to you and discuss costs. Even if  there are no issues found during your exams, your dentist will give you advice on the long term maintenance of your teeth and advise when you next attend.
